About Eugenio Barba’s The Country of Ashes and Diamonds

Summary/Abstract: The first volume of the Small Library (Kiskönyvtár) of the National Theatre in Budapest is a book signed by Eugenio Barba, in which the author recounts his encounter with Grotowski’s theatre. The volume also contains 30 letters addressed by Grotowski to​ Barba. Csongor Köllő, the Transylvanian „disciple” of these two theatre-creators, wrote a personal review about the volume entitled The Country of Ashes and Diamonds (Hamu és gyémánt országa).
