Summary/Abstract: China maintained a controversial attitude towards the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, which erupted in the western region of Sudan in the early 2000s and caused the death of nearly 300,000 people. It was claimed that the Government of Sudan carried out genocide in Darfur, and China became a party to this genocide by supporting the Government of Sudan in political, military and commercial terms.
