Summary/Abstract: The culture of transmodernity is accompanied by a number of changes concerning religion. The secularization theory has ended in failure, the role of spirituality and religion is emphasized. Changes occasionally provoke the thesis of protestantization and pentecostalization of Christianity, leading to fragmentation and decomposition. This is accompanied by a tendency to decentralize the Catholic Church. This poses challenges to theological hermeneutics in the field of Vatican IPs reception and the reading of the signs of the times, and also requires from the Church to take an appropriate spiritual attitude and define the vision of the future.
