Summary/Abstract: The concept of hospitality (by which we mean, broadly, the kindness and generosity shown to the people away from their home or place of origin), has generated a certain relationship between the host and guest, translated either in material (giving gifts to each other ) or non - material (protection, shelter, certain legal rights). A. van Gennep seen as a rite of aggregation, integration of the individual in a group (the author given the symbolism of communion and sharing food gifts that create continuity of the social bond) as a form of gift (O.Văduva), hospitality to strangers and especially to the divine couples traveling generated while a certain figurative structure present in both myths (Old Testament, Greco-Roman, Japanese etc.) and the Romanian traditional imagery, generator and / or consumer fairytale. Starting from epiphenomenon variations present in classical myths of theoxenia (Lot, Jesus, Philemon and Baucis etc.), this study brings to the fore, diachronic and hermeneutical perspective, the characteristic of this concept (Theoxenia) in the Romanian fairy tale in which presence, in many cases, it constitutes an important mitem, regulatory, functionally, significant.
