Summary/Abstract: The article aim is in presenting the possibilities that the latest Brazilian language policy creates for Polish as well as other minority languages. The most important seems to be the idea of co-oficialization [cooficialização] of minority languages at the Brazilian municipalities. It has been compared with the Polish Ethnic and National Minorities and Regional Languages Act. Such comparison enables emphasising the specificity of Brazilian legislation. The article also contains basic information concerning the presence of the Polish language in Brazilian public space.
