Summary/Abstract: The article proposes visiting Sicily in the footsteps of Zbigniew Herbert and Murilo Mendes. It is a comparative study of the creativities of the two authors. In the first part of the article Sicilian motifs in Herbert’s essays are discussed. In the second part interpretation of „Elegia de Taormina” by Mendes (one of the poems from „Siciliana” volume) can be found.
