Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the problems of correctness of the use of terms “sex” and “gender” in linguistic genderology. The paper provides an understanding of the term “gender” within the anthropo-oriented poly-paradigmatic investigation in Slavic linguistics, studies the ratio of terms “sex” and “gender” and analyses the metalanguage of biological and sociocultural gender in both Slavic and Russian linguistic description. The paper illustrates the word-formation and syntagmatic characteristics of the term “gender” and its meaning modifications in the process of the secondary term-formation. In modern scientific discourse, the appropriateness of the use of the term “gender” and its derivatives is analysed. Perception and interpretation of the word “gender” and widening its notional and expressive component in Russian society and the linguistic consciousness of native Russian speakers are considered here a fact of determinologisation and reflection of the current picture of the world of native Russian speakers. The investigation is made on the material of printed and electronic MASS-MEDIA, blog posts and Internet-forums.
