Summary/Abstract: According to the European Commission family businesses make up more than60% of all companies in Europe. They are specific entities operating in the market with a specific organizational culture handed down from generation to generation. The aim of this article is to draw attention to the importance of organizational culture in the process of succession of power in the family business as well as to propose the concept of research based on K.S. Cameron, R.E. Quin’s adapted model of competing values. The proposal of the research concept has been verified by empirical research. The survey was conducted among family businesses from the industrial sector using an OCAI questionnaire (Organisational Culture Assessment Instrument). There are presented the numerous possibilty of its implementation depending on needs and accecibility to companies’s data.
