Summary/Abstract: One of the EU’s most ambitious current vision, Regulation (EU) 2017/1939 implementing enhanced cooperation on the establishment of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office is being evaluated from a critical aspect in this article. The article focuses on the provisions concerning the future cooperation between the EPPO and its partners, especially OLAF and the non-participating Member States. Prior to the critical evaluation of the related statutory provisions of the Regulation, the author would like to consider and share some thoughts on the European Public Prosecutor’s Office’s ‘birth’ and the legal basis of its operation. After the brief presentation of the provisions concerning the issue of the EPPO’s external relations, the author would like to point out several deficiencies of the regulation giving rise to critical remarks. At last based on this complex analyzation the final critical conclusions are drawn by the author, concerning the bare existence and alleged future of the EPPO.
