Group purchasing organization as an example of positive cooperation in supply chain

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays enterprises fighting for their competitive position seek solutions optimizing their activity, modify their supply chains and more and more often take decisions about collaboration, i.e. positive cooperation. One of such proposals of cooperation is access to group purchasing organizations which enable decreasing the costs and increasing operational efficiency. Such practices of enterprises become more and more common in Poland. The aim of the article is to show that in modern economy the operation of the group purchasing organization becomes a natural consequence of evolution of positive cooperation, which benefits the whole supply chain. The article presents activity of group purchasing organization and its outcomes.
