Summary/Abstract: In this article they investigate the personality of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi in Taras Shevchenko work. It is closely connected with poets political, cultural, social and national views and believes. It is shown the formation of hetman character in Ukrainian history by means of literary word. Here one can find the estimation of Cossacks national-liberation movement before and after the Pereyaslavska Rada.
