Imagination as a Poetic Theme and Source of Creativity

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the critical reading of Anita Jarzyna’s Imaginauci. Pismo wyobraźni w poezji Bolesława Leśmiana, Józefa Czechowicza, Krzysztofa Kamila Baczyńskiego, Tadeusza Nowaka, the book devoted to the poets who share the belief in the creative power of words. Jarzyna uses the concept of the religious text to introduce the notion of the text of imagination. It allows her to treat imagination as an interpretative category and poetic theme. The author of the review sees Jarzyna’s book as an invaluable insight into each poet’s works but also as a unique “textual” treatment of imagination. At the same time the article opens the discussion about metaphorizing and creating of critical literary discourse.
