Summary/Abstract: The contribution responds to a significant development in the field of information and communication technologies, which occurred in the last two decades and which also had a fundamental impact on tourism. It provides a concentrated overview of the implementation and use of computers and internet applications into the practice of tour operators and travel agencies, and at the same time it tries to predict the next possible development and trends coming from the world of informatics into the examined sector.
