Summary/Abstract: The text is an anthropological interpretation of John Ford’s famous western movie The Searchers. As all classical westerns The Searchers can be perceived as variation of theoretical myth about social contract because social contract theory as well as classical westerns talk about creation of a society out of free and equal individuals. Starting point of the interpretation is sexual intercourse as key symbol of American kinship system and one of the most important symbols of American culture. The interpretation ends with the statement that in The Searchers a society is created and exist thanks to social solidarity called love and social hatred called racism.
