Summary/Abstract: The paper poses the question of teachers’ qualification in the workplace. A research has been carried out that establishes a set of motives facilitating the acceptance of new learning and teaching practices at school directed at achieving high cognitive and affective goals. A set of motives which distance teachers from actual implementation of innovative solutions in the learning process has been identified. The research methodological tool is Educational Drama which the teachers up to the beginning of the project have viewed as spectators only. Its inclusion as an actual learning and teaching tool in which they are both performers and experts is tested by means of focus groups and focus interviews. Conclusions are drawn as to the realistic perspectives of continuing teachers’ qualification in the workplace. This type of qualification is referred to as important and successful for achieving high educational goals and outcomes adapted to individual students and teachers.
