Summary/Abstract: In the article the shift in national attitudes of young Lithuanian students in 2003, 2008 and 2015 is presented. The study was based on empirical data and was done in the context of sociodemographic factors. Using statistical methods, attitudes reflecting national identity are categorized into traditional and modern attitudes. It was determined that national identity among academic youth can be considered a shifting rather than a stable construct. Nonetheless, the background and the school type are the most important statistically significant factors of traditional attitudes toward nationality. Meanwhile, the age and the type of school of higher education are more significant to modern attitudes.
