Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to present in a comparative manner the synallagmatic and the onerous character of the contracts, pointing out the peculiarities of each of them, while emphasizing the common points and the aspects that differentiate them. The analysis aims to answer the question whether a synallagmatic contract is always onerous, as well as whether the reciprocal is applicable.
