Open access education: the most popular educational resources in the Library of the Faculty of mathematics in Belgrade

Summary/Abstract: Open access is a concept which changes the way we exchange and accessinformation and knowledge. Open access increases the Ÿow and visibility ofknowledge and provides open educational content to everyone willing to learn. Oneof the possibilities that the New Age gives us is the opportunity of free education overthe internet, thanks to open access educational resources. Available resources areintended for users of di˜erent educational levels. œe conceptual and time frame forthe development of open education is de•ned in this study. An overview of the mostpopular free online educational courses which are held by internationally acclaimedprofessors and experts from di˜erent •elds are provided. In order to attend the courses,all you need is a computer, internet and some free time. How important and signi•cantopen access is for the education of each individual, as well as the users of the library atthe Faculty of mathematics in Belgrade will be disclosed in this study.
