Summary/Abstract: This paper, devoted to the local networked communities, considers some aspects of their communication and develops a hypothesis that such a communication proceeds not only in terms of “public networked talks” (D. Walker), but also oscillates between the “neighbor“ and the “citizen“ regimes. The outlined regimes are depicted as ideal-typical models based on the theoretical concepts of R. Oldenburg, J. Jackobs, L. Boltanski and L. Thevenot. Their relevance is proved by the analysis of the empirical case of the two Moscow local Facebookcommunities with similar neighborhood identities. The dissociation of “neighbor“ and “citizen“ regimes in local networked communication is connected in the article with the technological affordances of social network sites facilitating the differentiation of networked publics.
