CULTURAL HERITAGE TOURISM IN MONTENEGRO WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO DUKLJA

Summary/Abstract: Theorists of tourism often point out that tourism experience is the most distinctive cultural need of modern man. Therefore, tourism can be understood as a way of life through which it is easiest to perform homogenization of culture. Cultural heritage provides the authenticity of a tourist destination. That is something what makes difference among various tourist destinations. Combined tourist presentation represents the most successful aspect of the presentation of immovable cultural heritage, because the visitors are presented with the benefits from the time of discovery, and on the other hand they see its reconstruction. Cultural heritage is a very specific part of the overall tourism offer which can bring competitive advantage. Sustainable tourism on one hand ensures the prosperity of local communities and contributes to the preservation of their socio-cultural identity, including the protection and rational use of immovable cultural heritage.
