Summary/Abstract: Latin inscriptions, as original documentary material for the study of the antiquity, are a starting point for creating a complete picture of the life of the population. The inscriptions presented in this paper are simple funerary inscriptions and give information on the age of the individuals or the manner of honoring the deceased, though mostly consist of formalized phrases. Fragments are just a curiosity, and have to be considered only as part of a wider picture. We all use internet on daily basis, both privately and as academic resource. Digital databases are only one aspect to help us and others, to discover, study, learn and work with the European cultural heritage. After more than a decade of work on the creation of several digital database search inscriptions, the European Union started funding the EAGLE project. The EAGLE Best Practice Network is part of Europeana, a multi-lingual online collection of millions of digitized items from European museums, libraries, archives and multi-media collections. The results of the EAGLE project will be disseminated as widely as possible, both within the scholarly community and within the public at large. In 2014, the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro decided to fund the project „Digitalization of ancient inscriptions of Montenegro”, started by Historical Institute of Montenegro. One of the first things was signing a cooperation agreement with the European project, EAGLE. The inscriptions and ancient heritage of Doclea and Montenegro deserve much better treatment and presentation to the world.
