Expert Systems as a Supportive Tool for Production Logistics

Summary/Abstract: The idea of the revolutionary concept Industry 4.0 assumes that the act ofimproving of production should be mainly based on integrated process automation.The selection and range of use of tools which increase the effectiveness and efficiencyof operations is determined by specificity of production, including in particular thenature of used resources and widely understood infrastructure. Among the numerousmethods and techniques comprehensively supporting the processes of execution ofthe contract, noteworthy are information systems that are used today on almost everystage of business management. Therefore it is worth to analyze expert systems, becauseof its high efficiency in the process of optimization decisions The article presents therole of the expert system to manage the production logistics on the example of companyfrom the heavy industry, in which a key role plays technical quality, determinedmainly constant access to main productive resources.
