Efficiency Analysis of a Public Investment Project on the Example of The West Pomeranian Sailing Route

Summary/Abstract: The West Pomeranian Sailing Route – a network of tourist ports in West Pomerania– is an infrastructural investment. The project does not meet the criteria for financial efficiency,as the revenue from the lifetime period does not cover the expenditures. The investmentis also unprofitable on the operational level – the revenue will not cover the maintenancecosts of the infrastructure. The project will thus require additional financing from publicfunds. The investment does meet the requirements of economic efficiency when it comesto assessing the benefits for the local community. Therefore, The West Pomeranian SailingRoute has received money from the EU funds.
