Summary/Abstract: Oral competence in a foreign language is influenced by several factors. Good pronunciation, which is one of the oral components, is, amongst other elements, negatively influenced by the phonological and prosodic targets in the mother tongue; this induces pronunciation errors. Incorrect pronunciation of foreign languages does not stem from the incapacity to articulate correctly, but from a false perceptive interpretation. In order to correct pronunciation errors, the verbo-tonale method can be a solution in language classrooms. We propose an example for correcting the pronunciation of Polish students learning French as a foreign language.
