Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is the presentation of an idea and principles of openinnovation process execution on the Internet on the example of open innovation (webbased)platforms’ (OIPs) activity in the economic practice. The paper describes types ofOIPs, development examples of crowdsourcing, co-creation and open source softwareplatforms, and also creating motivation systems for their active participants. Producers-consumers (prosumers) as engaged users of OIPs are an important source of new value,knowledge and innovative solutions, therefore managing relationships with them influenceseffective innovative development of contemporary firms.
