Summary/Abstract: The number of smart cities is constantly growing. Mayors invest in new technologies and justify the expenses regarding the residents’ needs. Considering only this one criterion, not all expenses can be justified. Is the life of people better in smart cities? What are the solutions most often implemented? What problems do we have in cities in Poland? Are residents smart? Is smart city not just a new marketing strategy for the city? Is it worth investing in new technologies in the city? What are the conseqences of these quick changes? The article is an attempt to answer the above mentioned questions.
