Summary/Abstract: Dana Chetrinescu brings to the attention of the reader two volumes signed by Ioan Petru Culianu: the first one, "Arta fugii" gathers early works written in Iaşi and Bucharest, while the second, "Out of This World" represents Culianu's last achievement, published in the year of his death. The diversity of the collection of short stories, essays and theater-plays shapes an uncommon universe of surface and preconception. The maturity work is a study of religious practices, individual recolllections and literary creations. Dana Chetrinescu highlights Culianu's scholarly nature and his intentions as an initiator of trips inside one's own mental space as a fundamental means of knowing the world.
