Summary/Abstract: The article presents local memories and still survived services at several consecrated groundsdevoted to different saints protectors, celebrated in territory of Golemanite village (Mid Northern Bulgaria). Ethnographical study was held with special focus on St George’s memorial stone renovated in 2009 as a part of local identity development. Studies of re-invention of former “lieu de memoires” are very productive field of research in post-socialist Bulgaria.
