Summary/Abstract: The article examines the revolutionary activity of Matei Preobrazhenski. There is a lot of evidence that confirms the thesis that Father Matei was the adjutant of Georgi Rakovski and a close associate of Vasil Levski, the Apostle of Freedom. The article reveals the crucial role Matei Preobrazhenski – Mitkaloto played in the creation of the structures of the Internal Revolutionary Organization.
