Summary/Abstract: This contribution considers the work of the first archbishop of Vrhbosna, Josip Stadler, in the field of education and formation of candidates for the priesthood during his service as an educator in the theological seminary of the Archdiocese of Zagreb. His intention was not to educate the elite, since he was aware of his own humanity and the humanity of every priest, as well as of the differences of character and the weaknesses that every individual has.
