Summary/Abstract: In the history of Romanian law, there have been periods in which the principle of gender equality, as we know it today and whose effects we enjoy, seemed not to find its place. The dynamics of inter-human relations has attracted the necessity of adapting the legal norms, so that the family relations have altered over time the initial structure.Through this paper we want to capture the most important changes that have occurred in this sphere since the adoption of the Civil Code from 1864 up to the present.
