Summary/Abstract: Generating benefits through life cycle logistics of the major military equipment (LCLMME) involves the approach in terms of program management, systems engineering, supportability analysis, integrated logistic support elements, logistics engineering and reliability, availability, maintainability, testability, predictability and diagnosticability for the interoperability and optimal cost of major military equipment. As a challenge of the Romanian DoD strategic vision, DoD decision makers must integrate acquisition and logistics into a general capabilities framework in order to ensure a superior support process for the major military equipment by focusing on affordable system operational effectiveness as a key design and performance factor and emphasizing total product life cycle logistics considerations in the systems engineering process.During the process of defence acquisition management, LCLMME should be the framework of a scientific approach leading to the verified and validated decisions, which can contribute to a strategic guidance that will lead to faster implemented and more efficient logistical support, at higher quality and optimal cost.
