Summary/Abstract: Central and Eastern European countries, despite their common socialist past, have become a very differentiated group after the collapse of the Eastern Bloc. The countries which entered the structure of the European Union after 2004, i.e. Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, have the most similar political and economic systems. In this paper, these countries will be the subject of observation in terms of the changes occurring in their economies in the years 2005-2015. The aim of this article is to examine the relations that took place in the selected EU countries between the investment processes with the associated professional activity of the population and the achieved economic growth. In the studies, deduction method and elements of descriptive statistics were used.
