Summary/Abstract: This study investigates the moderating role of human resource management practices on the effect of bad habits of family businesses on withdrawal behaviors of employees. In the literature, it is suggested that bad habits of family businesses and human resource practices are effective on attitudes and behaviors of employees. In this context, it is assumed that bad habits of family businesses and human resource management practices may have effect on the withdrawal behaviors of employees. According to the aim of the research, data has been collected via survey method from 191 employees who are working in 25 different small and medium family businesses which are located in Çanakkale. Accordingly, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, correlation and hierarchical regression analysis were used for the data analyses and it has been obtained significant results. Based on the findings, it is observed that employees perception of nepotism and cronyism have a positive and significant effect on withdrawal behaviors. However, it is found that there is a moderating role of human resource management practices in the effect nepotism and cronyism on employees’ withdrawal behaviors.
