Summary/Abstract: The oldest surviving printed book in Serbian language about the history of the Greek people entitled Повъстница грчкогъ народа одъ постаня ньіовогъ, па до найновији времена was written by Konstantin Bojic in 1843 in Novi Sad. His book was created as a need to Serbian students in high school in Sremski Karlovci, high school in Novi Sad and in Teachers school in Sombor to give them an opportunity to learn the history of the ancient Greeks in the Serbian language. This leads us to a specific and unusual form in the form of questions and answers which was not common in Serbian literature. The author first put a question, and then gives the answer. However, Bojic beside historiographical work as a source for his book uses many literary works from which it draws its information to describe certain historical events. These works are dramas, epics, biographies, speeches, poems, travel books, philosophical discussions geography and chronicles. All together, we were able to identify fourteen ancient authors whose works are used in book of Konstantin Bojic, and which are not historiographical. However, at a time when Bojic creates and writes, it was not unusual especially if we know that he had a German role model. At that time in Germany is developing historiography of Romanticism, which lasted from the twenties to the forties of the nineteenth century, and one of its main characteristic is the rejection of the idea of enlightenment, rejection of rationalism and escape to the irrational world of feeling, imagination, wonder and mystical experience. Under the influence of German romantic historiography Serbian historiography received the first history of the Greek people in the Serbian language written by Konstantin Bojic.
