Summary/Abstract: Professional development plays a central role in human resource management systems. It helps the employees to perform better in their jobs but also helps organizations to fulfill their goals in a more effective way. In Romanian Armed Forces, professional development is mandatory and a career management system has been designed in such a way that professional development is unavoidable and desirable. My paper will show how and why the professional development plays a central role in career management system within MoND.
