Summary/Abstract: The benefits of the Internet as information resource clearly outweigh its drawbacks, but an appropriate quality assessment method for data is necessary to draw valid conclusions. Applying evaluation criteria for assessing quality web resources is considered an appropriate method to ensure that electronic information be effectively selected. Different categorization methods are used to group evaluation criteria. Criteria are organized in broad items, such as scope, content, graphic and multimedia design, context, etc. Each of these items has its own specific indicators to be taken into account. This is confirmed by the literature on assessment of resources over the Internet, as well as by the various practices adopted all over the world in research and business environments.
