Summary/Abstract: Th e 11th century codex Iviron 463 (Mount Athos) is special for two reasons: its beautiful miniatures as well as the complete Old French marginal translation appended to its Greek text, which has not, as yet, been transcribed. It cannot be ruled out that the translation was created simultaneously with, or shortly after, the completion of the codex itself. Th is paper summarizes the text editorial work implemented so far and addresses the hypothetical question whether the manuscript might have originally been conceived as a bilingual (Ancient Greek/Old French) codex.
