Summary/Abstract: The article presents the main aspects of the integration of the Bulgarian literary and civil education from the Renaissance to 1944. Resolved are curricula, methodological guidelines and pedagogical articles with regard to the possibilities of literary education to contribute to the formation of citizenship in students.
