MIGRATION OF THE KOSOVO POPULATION (1912 – 1915)

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is considering the Kosovo exodus, during the years of 1912-1914 and the causes of the exodus, during the first war in Balkan. Materials used in this paper, in support to the study, are originated from different resources, starting from the ottoman period, Austrian- Hungarian period and Serbian period. As a comparative analytical sources, has been used the Albanian documentation, based on the media, such as newspapers of that time. Based on the literature review, it appears that majority of the population during the exodus have been Muslim Albanians with a small number of catholic Albanians, who were seeking Albania as their final destination, whereas the Muslim Albanians were mostly interested in Asia, including Syria and Turkey.
