Summary/Abstract: The presented material explores the development of legislation in Bulgaria, related to the protection of state secret and criminal law guarantees for its protection. The fragmentary information in regard to major part of the legal framework, about the protection of state secret during the years, the obvious lack of interest from researchers on issues, related to criminal law protection of state secret and too scant case law, makes this presentation exclusively topical.
