Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses media approach to the concept of stabilitocracy on the internet portals in Serbia. The aims of the paper are to provide an insight into the media framing of stabilitocracy on the internet portals as increasingly dominant channels of information, pointing to the dominant media frameworks and narratives about stability, and also presenting the observed discourse strategies in media content. Content analysis and critical analysis of discourse strategies include media content about stabilitocracy that was published on the internet portals in Serbia in 2017. The theme of the stabilitocracy was in the main focus in 40% of sampled texts, which means that 9 texts out of 20 texts were dedicated exclusively to stability. The research has shown that the relationship between the texts in which the stabilitocracy is in the main focus and the texts in which it is a secondary topic is approximate. Namely, near 45% of the texts of the stabilitocracy have been processed as a secondary topic, most often with the reporting on European integration and internal politics of Serbia. The research results point to the three dominant media frameworks in the presentation of stability: analytical, sensational and the framework of direct opposition. The leading narratives about stabilitocracy, which were constructed on the basis of four discourse strategies, are: direct conviction, conspiracy theory, analytical approach and duty culprit. It is established that the media discourse on stabilitocracy is based on a direct condemnation of the practice of stabilization by the opposition and the position in Serbia, as well as consulted analysts; on a strategy that implies the introduction of stability as imposed by the great political powers and the constant establishment of stabilitocracy in the position of the duty culprit for anything that is negative and undesirable in the current political moment. Focusing on the media landscape in Serbia, the research also points to the importance of the role of new media in the political struggle of the opposition and the position at the current political and his torical moment – the scene of political media clashes is thus formed in the areas provided by internet portals and that change shows that the significance of new media becomes stronger. In addition, this outcome of media and political action needs to be re-examined and reminiscent of the aforementioned role of the media – it has to be the channel of free reporting, without the pressure of political currents. As a theme, in such a system of information, stabilitocracy would retain the conquered me dia space, but through a more objective discourse, the one that arises for the purpose of informing rather than conquering the position of power.
