Summary/Abstract: The teacher of the Islamic religious education is a professional of high working, educational and ethical qualities who is trained to work in a school for subject of the Islamic religious education. He must meet a number of specific requirements such as: conscious motivation for the profession, a more complete system of general and specialized education, high intellectual abilities, personality traits which are adequate to the system of values in society, a high level of maturity and a high level of personal culture. The modern teacher of Islamic religious education is the organizer and leader of the teaching process, the coordinator and mentor, motivator, an equal contributor. His primary role is to be of assistance to the pupils in the development of their physical and mental potential and to assist them in reaching their individual maximum. In the role of a head teacher, he is obliged to be the head of a department of students. This paper aims to introduce teachers of Islamic religious education with the role of a head teacher in primary and secondary schools. The work arose from the need and the fact that the teacher of Islamic religious education must constantly improve professionally, in order to better respond to the new demands of school and society.
