Summary/Abstract: Since the 1970s, gender studies radically reinterpreted most aspects of human culture, they opened new perspectives and introduced new approaches to thinking about society and culture; all this through interdisciplinarity. Gender roles are only very little defined by the biological conditions (sex), and gender discrimination is in fact social (hence, changing intime and space). The notion of “femininity” and “masculinity” is nothing more than a construction, and they point to the power relations that govern society. The article also examines the shifts and changes in the discourse of masculinities/femininities.
