Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the image of a bear in the fairy tale of Alexei Remizov Зайчик Иваныч, what is the literary transformation of the folk scene Bear (goblin, magician, rogue) and three sisters (SUS 311). Therefore, as the material for analysis, except, of course, the tale Зайчик Иваныч of Alexey Remizov, were used also the folk variants of the story The Three Sisters and the bear — Котик золотой хвостик, Машенька, Дедушка и медведь and Медведь и три сестры. The aim of the paper is searching for an answer to the question, by what elements of folk tradition Remizov created his literary image of a bear, what is a result of his creative imagination. Therefore, the article examines, among other things, the appearance of a bear, its habitat, its behavior and attitude toward people and toward nature.
