Summary/Abstract: The present article aims to explore ways to adapt the content of teaching (curriculum) tothe needs of the learners, according to their age, gender and type of skill targeted fordevelopment. The article does so by presenting the National Public SpeakingCompetition, a project of the English-Speaking Union Romania (www.esu.ro) and thestudents in the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (www.ase.ro). The article isbased on the author’s doctoral research in education.
