Summary/Abstract: Two texts – of Franz Brentano (1892) and Vasil Prodanov (2005) – are compared. Their topic is the future of philosophy. There is no future without past as well as past without future. Just because philosophy reflects continuously on its past, it reflects to a similar extent also on its future. For time, being, and human being to be thought together, we need the united category of choice: future (of time) is the possible modus of being as being before choice; past (of time) is the actual modus of being as being after choice; present is the necessary modus of being as being of choice. In contrast to the actuality of past, which passes through the necessity of present, future ‘exists’ only as information-interpretation (which aspect however has also past): anyone of the alternatives interprets the rest.
