Summary/Abstract: Entrepreneurship support policy is widespread in developed economies and mainly focuses on debuting entrepreneurs. Many European countries have launched new programs to promote the restart of former entrepreneurs who have failed in the past, threatened with exclusion from the market due to the stigma of failure. The analysis of differences between novice and re-entrepreneurs indicates the need to diversify support instruments. Activities that ensure access to information, advisory and psychological support for entrepreneurs who have experienced bankruptcy are particularly important. The New Chance Policy Program addresses the issue of support for re-entrepreneurs. However, the analysis of current activities in this area indicates that under this policy there is no separate specialized assistance for entrepreneurs who have experienced business failure and want to start operating again. The aim of the article is to assess the phenomenon of restarting a business in the context of the possibility of supporting this process through an active and well-structured policy. This assessment is based on a literature review and reports on monitoring activities under the New Chance Policy.
