System Dynamics Model as a Component of Competitive Intelligence

Summary/Abstract: Business competition is a domain that has not yet taken full advantage of the benefits of modeling and simulation. To address this, the aim of the paper is to show a model simulating competitive struggle. The model based on system dynamics serves to examine the effects of product development for enterprise competitiveness. In the context of own model building and conducted experiments, there is an evidence, that the use of modeling and simulations is useful in acquiring new information that is not included in enterprise information systems. Even though the model is a simplification of the actual market, such system model could be a perspective Competitive Intelligence tool.
