Hermeneutics of sensus fidei according to Joseph Ratzinger

Summary/Abstract: In the present world the interpretation of the sense of faith have been reduced to a personal opinion, an intellectual reason’s search and to the influence on the individual authority stand. Ratzinger suggests a hermeneutic method of the searching for the correct sense of faith that is not based on academic or personal achievements, but on the Bible, Tradition, the Doctors of the Church and its Magisterium. The contents of the article is focused on four problems: the Bible as the sense of faith standard (1), Tradition as the basis of faith intensification (2), the Doctors of the Church as faith inheritors (3) and the Magisterium as the office of the prescriptive sense of faith.
